Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure History - Celebrating 16 Years, Our Sweet 16, in Central Virginia

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series, the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, raises funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

2013 marks the 16th Anniversary for Central Virginia’s Race for the Cure®! The Central Virginia Race was started to honor Jennifer Norvell Saunders' mother, Joanne Norvell and since 1998 has raised over $5 million to fight breast cancer!
